My name is Kendra McClellan. This will be my 3rd year serving as an Assistant Principal and my 5th year in Sheldon ISD. I have over 20 years of experience in the field of education. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, LA. I also received 2 Master’s Degrees; Educational Management (2006) and Instructional Technology (2009) from the University of Houston-Clearlake.
My educational career began in Baton Rouge, LA where I taught 6th grade science for 1 year. After a year of teaching in Louisiana, I relocated to the Houston area where I taught pre-K thru 8th grade math, science, yearbook, computer keyboarding and library. I have also served in the capacity of LPAC Coordinator, Science Interventionist, Software Specialist, Math and Science Coach and RTI Chairperson.
In 2013-2014, I was the principal of Joshua’s Learning Land. My most recent assignment was Assistant Principal at Royalwood Elementary in which I served in for 2 years.
I am very excited to be a part of Monahan Elementary and honored to serve this community! I believe wholeheartedly in teaching the whole child. Children are all unique individuals who deserve an opportunity to learn and grow at their own pace. All children are entitled to come to a welcoming, safe, and respectful environment. Also, good communication between all the stakeholders is critical for the success of each child. It is a team effort to help all children reach their full potential. I think that we have the best teachers, staff, students, and parents at Monahan Elementary!
When I am not at Monahan, I enjoy listening to music, spending time with my family, continuously learning, riding my motorcycle and watching my daughter play sports.
Feel free to stop in and say hello, as my door is always open. If there is anything I can assist you with, please feel free to contact me at 281-454-2900.
